Petition government that Coxheath is not open for new mining projects

Dear SpeakOut! user

To whom it may concern,

I do not support the sale of CBRM land for mining expansion in Coxheath. I also do not support the Province of NS to allow the further exploration, re-opening and operating of a metals mine in Coxheath.

The Coxheath mine proposal may not only have the potential to affect Coxheath itself, but also the entire Sydney River Valley and other surrounding areas that are connected by associated waterways. Additional safeguards are required to ensure that our sensitive environment in Coxheath (and beyond) in the CBRM are carefully considered and can be protected.

Thank you,

  • We strongly encourage the Province of Nova Scotia to deny permitting for further exploration and mining in Coxheath
  • Increase protections against sensitive rural land
