Public group requests immediate suspension and review of CBRM public land sale of 1002 acres for mining
Coxheath NS - The CBRM has just released the agenda on their website for the council meeting to be held tomorrow (August 22, 2023 6pm):

The agenda indicates that the CBRM recommends the sale of 1002 acres of land in Coxheath at an assessed value of $140,300 to allow plans for mining to proceed as proposed by Nova Copper.
Keep Coxheath Clean Association (KCCA) represents the public and has collected over 500 signatures in the span of only a few weeks - in strong opposition of the land being used for mining purposes. KCCA respectfully requests that the CBRM immediately suspends the motion and allows its organization and the public the opportunity to have their voice heard regarding public land for which the CBRM has the responsibility to manage on behalf of the public.
The fact that an internal CBRM review has been carried out and not presented to the public is believed to be insufficient. The CBRM has not responded to our written request to be heard.
